At New Vocations, we take horses with everything from minor aches and pains to major fractures that need to be surgically repaired. Over the past few years, we have increased our rehabilitation program to accommodate more horses that need healing time prior to beginning their second career. Each horse is fully evaluated by our team, which includes a veterinarian, as needed. Any lameness issues are assessed and a plan is developed to get the horse sound enough to start transitional training.

Please note that horses in our rehabilitation program are not yet ready for adoption. Unfortunately, second career suitability cannot be accurately predicted at this point, as it depends on the nature of each injury and on the individual’s progress during the healing process. If you have questions about any of the horses listed below, you can contact Elizabeth Pagan at elizabeth@horseadoption.com
