What a well put-together mare with the athleticism to match! Last Drop’a Cognac, aka Indy, last raced in 2010 and had several years of relaxation at her owner’s farm after leaving the track. She didn’t miss a beat when starting back under saddle, even after over 6 years of living the good life. This lovely girl is smart, sound, has no vices, and no known injuries, and is a very nice mover to boot!
Indy will do best in a non-competitive home with a dependable daily routine, and is best suited for a patient, advanced rider who she can rely on to stay calm and be kind to her, but won’t stand for funny business. She will happily hack out and trail ride with others, or stay in the arena, and is quiet in the barn and turnout. She is learning to stretch into contact and stay relaxed in the bridle, and has been lightly started over fences.
Indy acts tough and won’t ask for attention, but she is happy to have it, and really enjoys having her own person to bond with and understand her. During her relaxing years, she became accustomed to having a horse buddy, and gets stressed in new situations and when doing things on her own. Indy has been turned out with geldings and mares, and would also be an excellent baby-sitter as she is quiet and affectionate towards her buddies; she may even prefer to be a companion over being a riding horse.
