Financial Modeling is… WOW! He is tall and graceful and exudes class. Financial is a 6 yr old 16.2 1/2h gelding with a classic build who was a stakes winner on the track. He retired and came to us not long after his last race. He had dropped in to the claiming ranks and the owners didn’t want to see him go down that path. He tends to be alpha but is not aggressive. He is so happy in his group of four, they play for the first 15min then happily graze the rest of the night.
Financial has some special needs in his lifestyle to keep him happy and at his best! He needs to have access to as much grass turnout as possible with the ability to come in to a stall as needed. It is probably best for him to stay in the southern part of the country so the winter weather does not make turnout difficult. He is currently wearing glue on shoes in front but has gone in nail on shoes, however he pulled his shoes and ripped up his feet hence the glue-ons.. He is barefoot behind. When cooped up in a stall he is a stall walker. Currently: he goes out in a grassy 6 acre field from 3pm -8am with 3 other geldings. He comes in to a stall for breakfast and hangs out all day until evening feeding, then gets turned out after he eats. We do our riding during this day time. He does not stall walk on this schedule except at feeding time when he gets excited.. He is not a cribber.
Under saddle, it is no surprise he feels talented and athletic. He is seasoned enough to be quite mannerly under saddle, even when he is feeling fresh. The worst thing he does is get a bit quick but has not offered to do anything more. The quality of his movement continues to blossom. He seems happiest to go long and low,so although he has the build desired in eventing, he will probably be happiest as a hunter. He loves trail riding and goes completely relaxed on the buckle so he would probably also enjoy hunter paces. Financial is a stunning individual with so much to offer in his second career. He is suitable to go any direction with an intermediate rider with a trainer or advanced rider.
